Way of Ayurveda ..............
Ayurveda is an ancient and revered system of medicine that originated in India thousands of years ago. It is an intricate system of healing that allows us to respond to our body’s individual requirements, achieve balance and maintain good health. It is also a way of life that teaches us how to maintain and protect health. The many components of this science provide a means to explore and correct the imbalances of the individual as a whole. This science of longevity emphasizes positive health and the prevention of disease. Therefore it is a truly holistic and integral medical system.
The word Ayurveda comprises ‘Ayu’ (life) and ‘Veda’ (science). Therefore Ayurveda called as science of life.
The whole universe along with macrocosm or human body is purely based on the five primodial elements. These are prithivi (earth), aap (water), tej (fire), vayu (air) and aakash (ether). These five elements are called the ‘Panchamahabhutas’. Each and every substance in this universe is composed of these five elements but the only difference is in their propotion.
The human body is composed of three doshas (humors), seven dhatus and three malas (excreta). Vata, pitta and kapha are the three basic biological humors which conduct the body functions.
Ayurvedic treatment is based upon the ascertainment of individual constitution. This is the unique power of the system in which it treats the living individual as the most important factor. Ayurveda does not regard disease as a factor in itself but only as a complication of imbalance of doshas. Hense it regards more as a product of how we live than as an attack from the outside. Based on the permutations and combinations of the three doshas, seven types of constitutions can be formed. They are Vata, Pitta, Kapha, Vata-Pitta, Vata-Kapha, Pitta-Kapha and Sannipata (balanced constitution).
Ayurveda Treatment
According to Ayurveda kayachikithsa (medicine) basically have two branches. Shaman (alleviation) and shodhan (elimination). In any pathogenesis, there is imbalance of doshas which causes vitiation of dhatus and malas. Both shodhan and shaman can be achieved by the fivefold therapy in Ayurveda called ‘ Panchakarma’. These fivefold procedures are Vaman (emesis), Virechan (purgation), Vasti (medicated enemas), Nasya (errhine therapy) and Raktamokshan (blood letting).
Each individual guest will go through a private examination, diagnosis and a treatment plan design to meet their individual requirements. Each guest will provide special attention from an Ayurvedic doctor and trained therapists.
